The following directions are written for your students: You can copy and paste the directions and share them directly with students on your Learning Management System (Google Classroom, Schoology, Canvas, etc.), via email, or on your class website.
Step 1: Create a Student Account
Note: If students have a Google or Clever account, they should use Clever or Google sign-in and skip confirming their account via email.
Go to www.albert.io. Click the Sign Up button in the top-right corner.
Fill in the required information.
Click Sign up.
A confirmation email will be sent to you. Use the link in the email to confirm your account, then follow the on-screen prompts to activate your account.
Step 2: Join Your Class
How to join your Albert class when your teacher has sent an email invitation:
Find the email from Albert. Check with your teacher to see which email address has been invited.
Click the link in the email. You will be brought to www.albert.io.
Log in with the same email that has been invited.
Look for the new class in your Classes tab.
Click Accept to join the class.
How to join your Albert class when your teacher uses Google Classroom sync:
Go to www.albert.io.
Log in to Albert using the same email that you use for Google Classroom, or use the Google Single Sign-On.
Find your classes in the Classes tab. You will already be enrolled in the class.
Note: When inviting students via emailed invitation or Google Classroom sync, students who already have an Albert account can accept the invitation directly on their Albert account and will appear as "Enrolled." Students listed as "Invited" must create their Albert account to accept the invitation.
How to join your Albert class with the class enrollment code:
After logging in to Albert, click the Home tab at the top of the page.
Click the Join Class button in the top-right corner.
Finally, add your unique class code to the Enter enrollment code field.
Note: The class code is case-sensitive.
Once a student joins your class, their dashboard will update automatically and show three tabs:
Assignments: Your class assignments will appear here.
Skill Path: Any Adaptive Skill Paths you've created will appear here.
Independent Practice: If you've opened up Independent Practice for a particular subject, students will find that here. Students can also see Adaptive subjects here.
Step 3: Begin Practicing on Albert
Note: Once you have assigned Albert practice, direct students to complete the relevant assignments on their class dashboard. If you’re using Albert for independent practice, you can share this article with your students.
How to Complete an Assignment on Albert
Click the Home tab, then click on the Assignments tab.
All of your active assignments will appear on your screen. If you want to view assignments for a specific class, select the class from the sidebar.
Click on the assignment you wish to work on.
Click Start Assignment.
[Pro-tip]: Any assignments with a time limit should be completed in a single session.
How to Practice Adaptive Content on Albert
If an Adaptive Skill was added to your Skill Path, click on the Skill Path tab on your homepage to find your skills.
If your teacher provided you with a direct link, simply log in to Albert, open the link, and begin practicing.
If you want to select a skill to practice or were provided an Adaptive Skill Code:
Click the Independent Practice tab on the student dashboard.
Find the Adaptive subject you intend to practice.
If you were given a skill code: Enter the skill code in the search bar at the top and click the skill title to begin practicing.
If you want to find a skill to practice: Use any of the search features in the top bar to find your desired skill. Click the skill title to begin practicing.
[Pro-Tip]: If you are looking for recently practiced skills, use the right-hand side bar to jump back into practice!
