Frequently Asked Questions related to independent student practice.

Independent Practice allows students to practice questions at their own pace, without teachers creating an assignment. When practicing independently, students can answer questions and review explanations as often as they'd like.

Why aren't all my subjects listed under Independent Practice?

Students can only practice subjects that have been unlocked for Independent Practice by their teacher. If you are interested in practicing an unlisted subject, speak with your teacher about opening Independent Practice.

How do I start independently practicing?

  1. Go to Albert.io and log-in to your Albert account.

  2. Click the Independent Practice tab on your dashboard.

  3. Browse or search for the subject you'd like to practice.

  4. Select a unit or topic and begin answering questions!

Are there other ways for me to practice independently on Albert?

Students can also independently practice thousands of Adaptive skills. Adaptive practice will automatically adjust in difficulty as you earn proficiency badges for demonstrating mastery.

To access Adaptive Practice, click on the Skill Path tab from your student homepage. From there, you can select any skill to practice or click Browse all Skills.

Why do Adaptive Skills I've practiced independently show up on the Skill Paths tab?

If your teacher is using Skill Paths, any adaptive skills you practice on your own will automatically appear on your Skill Paths tab under To Do. This keeps all your active work — both teacher-directed and self-directed — in one prioritized list, so you can easily see what to focus on next and pick up where you left off.
