Viewing Assignment Data
Reviewing assignment-level data allows you to easily view how your students perform on a specific assignment. You can drill into assignment-level data to see how each student performed, as well as class averages for questions and standards.
1. Click on the Reports tab from the primary navigation bar.
2. On the top left, choose the desired class or ("All Classes") for which you’d like to review assignment data.
3. You can click into an Assignment Report by clicking on an assignment from the Recent Assignments list on the right.
4. Alternatively, View all Reports in the top right to navigate to the Assignments Reports from there.
5. You'll be shown a list of all assignments for the selected class. Adjust any filters or metrics at the top to scope your data appropriately.
Note: Use the Partial Credit filter to include partial credit in grading, if desired.
6. If viewing all assignments from the Assignments Report tab, you can get more detailed information about each student's individual performance on each assignment by hovering over the assignment "Name" column and clicking the Drilldown arrow that appears.
7. Alternatively, you can select the box to the left of each assignment's name to review data across multiple assignments and click Drilldown selection.
8. You will automatically be shown how each student in your class performed on the assignment. You can adjust the view to see how your class performed at the question or standards level for that particular assignment by changing the selector in the report toolbar to Questions, Standards, or Subjects & Topics.
To view assignment data from your Home tab:
Go to the Home tab and select Assignments from the menu on the left.
Find the assignment for which you'd like to view data and click the View Report icon to the right of the assignment name.
View Student Submissions and FRQ Responses
To gain a more in-depth view of question-level data by student, you can view how each student answered questions for multiple question types including Free Response Questions. To view student submissions, follow these steps:
After navigating to the Assignment Report you would like to view, click the submission status within the Status column for any particular student and click View Submission. You can also click the Actions dropdown on the right and select View Submission from there. This will open a new tab.
On the left-hand side, you will see all of the questions in the assignment and a “Correct” or “Incorrect” label. Click on the question you would like to view.
The student’s guess will be highlighted in blue for multiple-choice, multiple select, and two-way table questions and displayed under the question for fill-in-the-blank and dropdown questions.
Students' FRQ responses will be accessible from this view.
Note: You can navigate between students using the left and right arrows surrounding the student's name. You can also jump to any student's submission in the class by clicking the dropdown with the student’s name in the upper left corner.
View Auto Submitted Violations
If an assignment has Secure Mode enabled, you may see an Auto Submitted status next to a student's name in the Assignment Report. This means the assignment was submitted automatically by Albert, not by the student themselves, because the student exceeded the allowed number of violations.
Clicking the Auto Submitted badge opens the Violation Log, where you can review:
A numbered list of each violation the student triggered
The type of violation (Exited fullscreen, Switched tab, or minimized)
The exact date and time each violation occurred
From the Violation Log or the submission status menu, you can also Reset Submission Status to clear the student's violation history and allow them to start the assignment fresh.
Exporting Assignment Data
On the Assignment Report page, you will find a "Download Report" dropdown menu in the top right corner. You can download the report as either a CSV or an Excel file. Once downloaded, you can upload these reports into your grade book.
The detailed Excel Report includes two main tabs:
Assignment Summary: This tab provides a high-level overview of individual student performance. Key data points include:
Completion Data: The number of questions attempted and the overall completion percentage.
Overall Performance: Each student's total correct answers and raw accuracy score.
Difficulty Breakdown: Accuracy percentages categorized by Easy, Moderate, and Difficult questions.
Students - [Assignment Name]: This tab offers a detailed, question-by-question breakdown for the entire class. Key data points include:
Question Details: Metadata for each question, including the theme, topic, and correct answer.
Class-Wide Metrics: Aggregate data such as the average duration spent on a question and the percentage of students who chose each answer.
Individual Responses: A color-coded view showing the exact answer choice submitted by every student for each question.
Note: To download a detailed Excel Report, ensure the assignment title does not contain any symbols (%,&,/, etc). If needed, you can rename an assignment anytime.
