Adding a co-teacher allows you and another teacher to create assignments and manage a classroom together. All teachers and co-teachers have the exact same classroom permissions, regardless of whether the teacher created the class or was later added as a co-teacher.
All teachers and co-teachers can invite students, create assignments, edit assignments, open or close independent practice, and view student data for the classrooms.
How do I add a co-teacher?
If you are an approved teacher at a licensed school, you’ll be able to add a co-teacher by following these steps:
Log into your Albert account and click the Classes tab at the top of your page.
Find the classroom that you’ll add a co-teacher to, and click View Class.
Click on the People tab.
Click Approved on the left sidebar.
Click Add co-teacher.
Input the email address of the co-teacher.
Click Add.
Why can’t I add a co-teacher?
If you see a message that says "You do not have permission to add co-teachers to this classroom," you are either not approved at your school or your school doesn’t have a license. If you know that your school has a license, you can reach out to an admin to approve you. If your school does not have a license and you're interested, you can email hello@albert.io.
Alternatively, if you tried adding a co-teacher after inputting an email address and see the message display below, it means that the email address you entered is not associated with an approved account at your school. We recommend that you reach out to the co-teacher to double-check if the email address is associated with their Albert account, or to reach out to an admin to see if they can approve the co-teacher.
How do I remove a co-teacher?
If you remove a co-teacher, they will no longer be able to create assignments, view student data, and manage the classroom.
To remove a co-teacher, follow these steps:
Log into your Albert account and click the Classes tab at the top of your page.
Find the classroom that you’ll add a co-teacher to, and click View Class.
Click on the People tab.
Click Approved on the left sidebar.
Click on the three dots next to the email address of the co-teacher that you’ll remove.
Click Remove co-teacher.
[Pro-tip]: If you're looking to transfer your Albert class to an approved Albert teacher or administrator, adding them as a co-teacher will give them continued access to the class when your account is no longer active.
