Step 1a: Invite New Teachers to your Albert License

Follow these steps to add teachers to a renewed license without removing any teachers’ access. You can also follow these steps if your school is licensed on Albert for the first time to invite all of your teachers.

  1. Click on the Admin tab at the top of the site. (If you are approved at multiple schools: select a school from the next page)

  2. Navigate to the Manage Staff sub-tab.

  3. Click the Update Teacher List button

  4. Select Add teachers

  5. Enter, or copy-paste, the email addresses that you wish to add to your Albert license

  6. Click Add and Continue

  7. Review the list of teachers who will be newly approved or invited

  8. Once finished, click Send teacher invites

Note: New teachers will appear on the “Pending Invitations” list of the Manage Staff sub-tab until they accept your invitation.

Step 1b: Refresh your Entire Staff List

For renewing schools, follow these steps to upload a list of teachers to quickly invite new teachers and reject teachers who should no longer have access to your license.

  1. Click on the Admin tab at the top of the site. (If you are approved at multiple schools: select a school from the next page)

  2. Navigate to the Manage Staff sub-tab.

  3. Click the Update Teacher List button

  4. Select Refresh Staff List

  5. Enter, or copy-paste, the email addresses that you wish to add to your Albert license

  6. Click Add and Continue

  7. Review the list of teachers who will be invited and the list of teachers who will be removed

  8. Once finished, click Invite and Update Teacher List

Note: The newly invited teachers will appear on the “Pending Invitations” list of the Manage Staff sub-tab until they accept your invitation. Teachers who were removed from your license will appear on the “Rejected” list.

Step 2: Ensure teachers have created classrooms & Invited Students

Experience has shown us that following up with teachers within one week of inviting them to join Albert is vital to a successful implementation. Here are a couple of best practices when following up with teachers:

  • Double-check the Manage Staff sub-tab to ensure no pending teachers are waiting to be approved. You can always view pending teacher accounts in the tab labeled Pending Approval. Teachers can't create classrooms, invite students, and create assignments on Albert until you've approved them!

  • For teachers that have yet to accept their Albert invitation, re-invite them to create an account by clicking the Resend button located in the Pending Invitations column of the Manage Staff sub-tab.

  • Use the Usage Reports sub-tab to review which teachers have created classes and enrolled students.

  • Consider setting aside time in a department meeting or PLC to support the teachers who might need additional help.

  • Utilize experienced and "tech-savvy" teachers to help others who haven't started yet.

  • Consider additional training or professional development for your teachers. You can reach out to your dedicated Account Manager or contact us at schools@albert.io for more information.

Ongoing: Regularly Review Usage

Once the year is underway, an admin's job is to monitor usage to hold teachers and students accountable. The Admin tab gives you insight into your school's usage at both a high level down to individual students.

Here are some best practices when reviewing usage:

  • Set concrete goals for each month, quarter, or semester around usage. For example, by X date, all teachers have created a class, invited students, and made at least one assignment.

  • Create a schedule and block off time to review the Admin dashboard. We recommend every 2-4 weeks.

  • During department meetings, PLCs, etc., ask if there are any questions about Albert. Our Adoption team is here to help with both technical solutions and instructional recommendations.

Troubleshooting:

If your teachers aren't receiving your emails, contact your IT department to add the following domains to your school's allow-list. These are the domains from which invite and confirmation emails come
